Retro, Mirro Cookie Press, Lemon Crisps!

I was VERY excited to find my new cookie Press Thursday while Thrifting.

My first attempt is a Lemon Crisp recipe from the 1950’s manual.The press works VERY well and is a simple cleanup.I thought I would dip some in Melted Milk Chocolate…They tasted FAR better than they look!

                        Lemon Crisps

             For the Mirro Cookie Press

                 Time:10-12 min. Temp: 375 F 

1 Cup shortening

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

1 Egg beaten

2 1/2 Cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 Teaspoon salt

1/4 Teaspoon soda

1 Teaspoon lemon rind

1. Cream the shortening and add sugars gradually.

2. Add lemon juice and beaten egg then beat well.

3. Gradually add flour sifted with salt and soda.

4. Add lemon rind

5. Fill the cookie press and bake.
